The UAE tightened its requirements for Nepali applicants and the two that catch people out are a Police Clearance Certificate, now compulsory, and a six-month bank statement for younger applicants. There is no visa on arrival for a Nepali passport — it has to be arranged before you fly.
At a glance
Visa needed: Yes — arranged before travel, no visa on arrival
Length of stay: 14, 30, 60 or 90 day options, single or multiple entry
Applied through: An airline, hotel, licensed travel agency or a UAE sponsor
Police clearance: Compulsory for Nepali applicants
Travel insurance: Mandatory, minimum AED 100,000 medical cover valid in the UAE
Fees
UAE visa pricing depends on the duration, the number of entries and who sponsors the application, so a single published figure would be misleading. Tell us your dates and we will quote the exact total, including insurance.
Visa types
Tourist visa, 30 days — 30 days. The usual choice for a holiday or a shopping trip.
Tourist visa, 60 days — 60 days. For longer stays or visiting family over an extended period.
Multiple-entry visa — Varies. Useful for repeat business travel; requires a stronger financial profile.
Transit visa — 48 or 96 hours. For a long layover in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, usually arranged by the airline.
Visit visa on family sponsorship — 30 or 60 days. Your sponsor must hold a valid UAE residence visa — a visitor cannot sponsor you.
Documents required
Passport valid at least 6 months, with a clear scan of the biodata page
Recent passport photograph to UAE specification
Police Clearance Certificate from Nepal Police, attested and generally issued within the last 90 days — now compulsory for Nepali applicants
Bank statement covering the last 6 months, required for applicants under 42
Confirmed return ticket
Confirmed hotel booking, or your host's details and residence visa copy
Travel insurance with at least AED 100,000 medical cover valid in the UAE
Before you apply
Start the Police Clearance Certificate first
The PCC is the long pole. It must be recent — generally issued within the last 90 days — and it has to be attested through Nepal Police headquarters, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the UAE Embassy in Kathmandu. Begin it before you book anything else.
A visitor cannot sponsor you
If a relative in Dubai is sponsoring the visa, they need a valid UAE residence visa. Someone in the country on a visit visa cannot sponsor another visitor.
About Dubai & UAE
Dubai packs a startling amount into a short trip, which is exactly why it works so well from Kathmandu — direct flights, a four-and-a-half hour hop, and no jet lag to speak of. In one week you can go from the top of the world's tallest building to a silent stretch of red desert, and the city is built for visitors in a way few places are. Come between November and March; summer here is genuinely punishing.
